Stella is released for current Windows and Macintosh operating systems. In addition, we make available special builds of Stella Architect and Stella Professional to allow its use on some Linux systems and older Macintosh systems.
Special builds should function the same as the regular builds, but undergo less testing and evaluation so you should exercise them thoroughly before beginning production work. The ability to play videos is not available in special builds, though if you create an interface with videos they should work once published.
Special builds are available for Linux systems running on Intel (x86) architecture. The native Linux version should work on Ubuntu 22 or higher, RedHat 8.8 or higher andopenSUSE 15 or higher. You can test compatibility with other Linux flavors, but older versions are not likely to work. Linux users can also use WINE to run Stella. Since WINE is not compatible with our current software release we make available a special Windows build based on Qt version 6.2 what WINE does support.
Macitosh users on Catalina (10.15) can use Special Stella builds based on Qt version 5.15.
To access Special builds just log into your account an g to you software products. If there is a Special button under available releases click on that to see what is available. Not all special releases are available for all versions.
